Au naturel

When it comes to makeup, my thought is to have fun playing with it.

Often, the more you play, the more you wear – because the more you learn about it. Then, you start wearing makeup on a daily basis. Each day, you become more and more used to seeing your face all dolled up. If one morning you wake up and find it hard to go out with nothing on but a moisturizer, then maybe you just fell into the vicious circle.

Do not panic. Take a step back. Wash up your face. Do not put on anything – not a hint of pigment – for a couple of days. Let your skin breathe and take care of it. Now, allow yourself to rediscover your natural beauty and embrace it. Yes, at first you will find yourself looking a bit dull, and “slightly” tired too. Well, get used to it. Just do. This type of “therapy” will allow you to tame makeup in a different state of mind.

Being more aware of your natural beauty and learning how to live with a bare face will make you think twice before applying a product – and eventually you will end up putting on less makeup. It is all about findind the right balance. Also, you will find yourself not wanting to wear makeup every single day and, most importantly, being comfortable with it.

Remember to enhance yourself, not hide.

Makeup is just for fun!

Love,

Hermine

    1. You’re so sweet, thank you! I actually keep changing my skin care products once I finish them, I’m still exploring! Still, I could give you three tips that may have helped: 1) let your skin breathe by not wearing foundation (or makeup in general) every single day, 2) try to do a mask once or twice a week if you can (I’m currently using and liking the zinc and copper mud mask by Sephora) and 3) don’t forget to hydrate yourself by drinking water 🙂 xo
