One question. One answer. For Your Inspiration (a.k.a FYI). This serie aims to (re)discover the essence of one designer’s brand and to translate it into different outfit suggestions.

Starting with the Classic American Cool, Tommy Hilfiger. Like the previous motto would imply, Tommy Hilfiger‘s world includes classic pieces styled in a more relaxed way. Understand by that: preppy meets casual. Like referred to on its About section, his youthful style mixes “East Coast Classics with a laidback Westcoast twist“.

Preppy can translate into basic knitwear, classic shirts, structured skirts and pants. As for casual, think simple cotton T-shirts, denim textured pieces such as a jacket, a pair of jeans or overalls, sneakers and wedge heel shoes.

Colorwise, three main colors stand out: navy blue, white and red – hints of yellow also seem to make an appearance here and there as well. A classic palette with basic color choices, just like the whole style istelf.

Enough theory, time to put it into practice. Remember, the idea is not to copy but to interpret and to adapt a designer style to your own wardrobe and taste.
